do they know it's christmas time?

you non-brits really have no idea how good you have it. i had NO IDEA how many crappy christmas songs had been written before coming here. All the shops and radio stations have conspired to make sure that every song that goes over the airwaves is related to christmas... if i hear that soul sapping one by paul mcartney (that fortunately is out of my head for the first time in a long time) i might kill a reindeer (there are some at brighton - i saw them on the weekend). and don't get me started on the title song.

we had our second christmas party on tuesday (yes, that would be another 12 hours of continuous drinking - but in style, well for most of it (the part where i forgot about the camera)), followed by a EG christmas dinner (non-alcoholic) on wednesday and mince pies today - i am going to be over christmas by sunday. i did manage to fit in a visit to the gym yesterday to do yoga - fortunately the regular taskmaster was away and then fill-in yogi taught a version of yoga that focussed pretty much only on breathing (to christmas tunes! : ) but it wasn't exactly hard work.
anyway, won't bore you further -
hope everyone has a great christmas and gets lots of nice presents

demon days

other than being my birthday time of year - there is that other little thing going on called christmas. which is all well and good, or mostly good and a little bit of bad (what is it 80/20?) and this year the bad has been the ritual humiliation of the work christmas party.

well, it wasnt so bad for me - for example, i wasn't the one stripping at the bar afterwards....but i did make everyone play bingo - in spanglish - on the minibus ride home... and i was an active participant in singing for oh...about three hours on the way home...and did possibly lead everyone in a round of 'a pizza hut, a pizza hut, kentucky fried chicken and a pizza hut'...etc. urgh (i don't even eat fast food!) but i think i came off pretty lightly considering it was my first work party with unlimited alchohol for around 10 hours.

and rohan got groped! - by a girl from one of the other offices! i think he was quite chuffed - but he tells me he doesn't know who it was!!!

in other news, rohan and i suffered the other ordeal of christmas shopping today - we went to royal tunbridge wells though which was quite lovely - still absolutely exhausting though. meaning we miss going up to london to see pip and richard for the third weekend running - slack, i know - i have to admit - london seems alot further away, now that it is cold and gets dark at 4:30pm!

love and christmas cheer -
