budget day

its been a while btwn blogs but i am by myself in sydney watching the budget announcement so it seemed like a good time to update.

actually, the budget is more interesting than i thought it might be.

the good news is we (and by we i mean australia) are getting high speed broadband!!

ooh now he's talking green energy. i think he's my new hero.

he is also talking about 'recovery' - that's my treasurer.

anyone who has spoken to me lately knows that I am sick! of talking about the gfc.

i think it is one of those problems that if we just ignored it, it would go away.

i've just been at a conference about sustainability in australia so there was a bit of musing about if there would be any money for public transport, green energy, etc. i am no expert but it isnt looking too bad.

ok enough budget talk....

whatelse is going on. well, i had wanted to watch that new renovation show right now

oh. sorry - more news - waynes just announced we are going into defecit : ( quite a bit of deficit by the sounds. uh oh.

ok, so i had wanted to watch this terrible renovation show on channel 7 or something. the reason being, not that i have become depraved from living near the central coast (sorry - nsw 'in' joke - very dumb people live near me), but that rohan and i are thisclose to buying a house. that's all i'm saying - i keep jinxing myself. it's just a little house. definitely a 'first home' and actually doesnt require much renovation - except maybe some wallpaper ; ) we are not sure if it is worst decision to make at this time or not but damn it, i need to hang some pictures.

thats about all really - we celebrated our 5 yr anniversary last week - went away with friends! i know, ever the romantics.

mum sent me this pic of my great-grandma. she reckons there's a likeness - not sure. although i am happier to look like G-G than my dad which somone suggested the other day! nasty.

ok, better devote some attention to the budget post-mortem.
