not done yet

so it is i find myself at home alone on a saturday night with a bottle of white, a girly flick and 1000 worms (my newly bought worm farm (i am a bit concerned how happy i am about my worm farm - a definite sign of aging) - dont worry, they are all contained in a box, a safe 6m or so away from me).

rohan is hopefully having a good time at the newcastle beer appreciation society annual dinner. my night just got a whole lot worse when i remembed i said i would pick him up and so wont be able to finish my brown bros white and have to watch this terrible film sober :(

i'm going to keep myself entertained by posting some photos....they're very old now, but i hate not finishing things.
Last time I posted, I think our happy band of 4 had just left Vegas enroute to San Fran. We went via a few national parks - sequoia, kings canyon and yosemite...

needing a rest on the windiest of windy roads up to sequoia

one of the beasts

a beautiful brown black bear!! - he/she seemed quite happy with the grass (not interested in us)

the rather magnificent kings canyon

technique

our accommodation in kings canyon. looks nice? the scariest accommodation. ever. when we first walked into the main bar, it took a while for my eyes to adjust to the darkness - then i realised that there were little beady eyes all around staring at me - someone was obviously very keen on taxidermy. the son of the owner was seriously unhinged...when the owner showed us a cabin - i said 'is the key in the door?' (cos he hadnt offered one) he said 'there's no locks, love' *shudder*

but it was good - in a character building kind of way.

spectacular, other-worldy, yosemite

how to end a day

our accommodation in yosemite. looked lovely and this time was lovely. felt like we stepped back in time.hiking in yosemitebeautiful dogwood flowers were everywhere in yosemite

oh, my night just got a whole lot better - just realised dawn of the dead is on tv.

before i go - just to prove i am not completely stuck in the past - here are some pics of our new hometown.
