in loving memory

Matilda Edna Frazer
September 7 1921 - June 12th 2006

i dont really know if our travel blog is the place, but i wanted to pay tribute to my wonderful Grandma Frazer, who passed away yesterday.

She will be remembered by me for forcing me to wear a scratchy woollen bonnet to go tobogganing at the lake, sending letters in code to her grandchildren in Australia, teaching me to make paper snowflakes, her delicious cookies with raisins or choc chips if you were lucky, (her awful tomato aspic...urgh), garlic salad dressing that could kill small children, going against all the fashion trends and wearing a turquoise tracksuit with all her grandchildrens' names printed on it (except Jane - who came out as June) in public!, teaching me and Simon Mah Jong, letting me crash at the condo when I was 17 and clueless, teasing Grandpa and her sense of humour (which I only really appreciated on a canoe trip around the same time), her strange political alliances, for being a strong, intelligent, wise and living a life that a granddaughter could admire - just generally being all you could want in a Grandma.

hello all,
yes we are still alive.
but our (sorry, Rohan's) laptop isnt (i broke it somehow - does anyone know anything about hive files???)
so hence the lack of posts, pics, fun and frivolity.
Also it is a sad time for me at the moment ...but anyway.
the show must go on.
the weather here is beautiful and the evenings go on and on. Last weekend was Pip's birthday in the park which was a riot (for me anyway) and swore me off drinking for at least two nights?
This weekend i think we will do something a little more sensible - like going to a national trust home or something.
We have rohan's uni mate, greg staying with us at the moment, while he gets prepared for the antipodean lifestyle - he is a very good house guest - mowed the lawn even.
Tonight is the start of the World Cup, which has of course taken England by storm. I have got Ukraine in our work sweep stake - apparently i could double my money by losing everything.
Ok, well - hopefully it wont be long til we get the laptop sorted out. Although judging how long it has taken us to sort out other things, dont hold your breath.
