why i don't blog anymore

the other day rohan said to me

'hey ainslie, why don't you take a photo of the mushrooms to put on the blog?'

aand - i think that pretty much says it all : )

mind you, these were no store bought mushrooms that rohan was referring to. oh no, these were home-grown mushrooms and mushrooms take a lot of effort to grow (who knew?), but they aren't exactly blog worthy. although perhaps the funky mouldy, fungussy, fly attracting cesspit the 'mushroom farm' became might have been. we aren't growing mushrooms anymore...

although there is stuff going on - not as fun as european escapades, but possibly more fun than mushrooms - we have bought a house (did i mention that before? it kind of all happened without us noticing in the end) which we decided not to move into because we like where we are renting so much. yes, even we can't quite figure that one out - although now we are moving in because our tenants told us they are moving out - 3 weeks before our wedding!

argh.

and yes, we are also getting married soon!

exciting times.

otherwise, work is a bit of a mess but i am glad to have a job. rohan has been working his arse off and kicking goals over at bmt wbm. he has been rewarded with a junket this week so he is over in NZ, while i am discovering just how messy and lazy i am when no one is watching! (scary)

we have had weird weather lately. today was a humid, hazy day. i went down to the beach and it was hard to determine where the ocean ended and the air around it began. all fuzzy boundaries and the air smelling like sea and the sun like a big glowing disc setting on the horizon. i like it. oh, except the bit where my hair goes equally fuzzy.

i think i fall a little more in love with my adopted home town every day. ok, maybe every week. it is by no means perfect but i've never liked anything perfect anyway. still doesnt quite feel like 'home' but it is a place i like to be.
