whingy update

today it was cooold - 10 degrees! for the first time....is it bad to want to wish away 3 months of your life? probably. i'll just have to get some indoor hobbies and interests...god knows i need them on my cv...i do still have to finish my scarf from last year...and i was going to make a bean bag. hmmm, exciting stuff! and probably wouldnt do much good on the cv anyway.
in any case, i think i will try and not make cooking and drinking my extra curricular activities this winter too much.

in other news, my bro moved to morwell today to begin his career as a lawyer! v. exciting and no doubt scary as hell. i am sure he will be great, the best lawyer there ever was, not that i am biased. oh yes, and 1 week til we are back in oz.

a couple of weekends ago we went to wales. i met rohan up there (he drove up there for work). For me, i may as well have been travelling to hell and back. ..

I had some last minute things to do at work which meant i caught the 4:30 train from EG instead of the 4...and that is where it all went wrong. because i had to be on the 6pm train from euston to glasgow to get to wales at ~10pm...it took me ages to get my pre-booked ticket which meant i had no time to get a sandwich for the train(!) and by the time i got there i was one of the last ones on and was a sandwich myself standing between the other commuters and the door....for 2 hrs!! (so i wouldnt have been able to eat anything really anyway).
towards the end i was convinced i was going to spew over everyone. i got all sweaty and had the whole nausea and bile rising in my throat thing, but mercifully the train stopped right about then. at which point i had to get out to catch my connecting train, which was of course cancelled and the three thereafter, which meant i got to spend 1.5 hours at Crewe station before being loaded into the cargo compartment of the train for my next venture (only 45mins). rohan picked me up from the next station so i didnt have to suffer through the next leg of the journey (another hour). so it was a far cry from what i was expecting (glass of wine... good book...sandwich) and i was not happy jan.

wales itself was beautiful. we stayed at cute b&b's (one of them was my idea of the perfect b&b), saw some cool old towns, alot (alot) of the coastline, ate fried bread (yes, i know i am going to be a bridesmaid in two weeks)

and then on the sunday i drove from pembrokeshire to bristol for four hours in torrential rain (yes, not drizzle as you would expect) convinced there was no way that rohan and i were not going to be a statistic before the day was out, where i caught the train (grrrr) back to EG (got a seat this time which i was not giving up for ANYONE).
so yeah, photos.

me in llandudno - a victorian beach resort - quite a nice spot
i love their elfin language.

ok, blogger has given up so i will post others later. i need to put the fire on anyway, i am turning into an icicle.
