29 years of tough luck

oh, i'm just whinging (as ever)- it hasnt been that bad (if you dont know, i've turned yet another year older since the last post (it's relentless, this aging thing))

for example-we are out of our little den of evil. the transformation isnt quite complete as we have no bedding i.e. no pillows -so it seems a bit primitive still. but we do have hot water, a lounge room, kitchen, stuff to cook with etc. and no sign of rats (as yet - we are on the 1st floor and i would have thought we would be safe up here, but at work we are on the second floor and i have seen (with my own eyes) mice scurrying about the place).

anyway, here are a few pics from us moseying about london in the past month...london is so photogenic.
beautiful tree - quite japenesy i think - do any of you keen gardeners out there know what this is??? close up (with my beloved guardian (quite possibly thing i will miss most about england (except grandparents!! (hi grandma)))) below
i was going to say 'bridge' but is more of the thames really isnt it? will i ever get over being an engineer??

say cheese. flashy rohan and open eyes and the eye.

silver linings at the houses of parliament (lets hope)

wind. rohan and i battled our way up the thames path on this day.

and now, bring on the celebrations!

beth (angel that she is) cooked an out-of-this-world vegetarian birthday dinner for me before our soujourn to pari. pip cooked the desert (plantane (sp?)- also good).

foxy pip and pies.
me and pie back when i was 28.

beth excited about beans. me and paul less so (only kidding, they were very good)

the lovely (and coordinated) sisters G.

then it was onto paris. rohan will, to this day, say he booked for my birthday, but in reality was because we were homeless and had nowhere else to go (we've been everywhere else now - bar rome and greece). i think paris knew our motives and put on a seemingly endless display of rain and wind and freezing temperatures. it was nice on the day we left (and on the morning of my birthday).
i did actually get asked for directions more than once in paris, which i decided to take as a bit of a compliment (didnt feel so bad about getting aged)

blustery day in paris - eiffel in the background

the louvre

there she is

venus de milo -i think will always remind me of homer simpson

the holy grail!

that gorgeous golden arvo light on the (oh crap) right bank i think.

the musee d'orsay - originally the gare d'orsay.

the time is now

just liked this tree. outside of the musee d'orsay.
birthday breakfast in montmarte

the sacre coeur lit up for my birthay

surrendering to the sun. it was about 0 degrees (99% sure he wasnt dead)

my boy loves his crepes.

ummm...i also just liked this glass

this was about as close as we got to THE tower. rohan at my birthday dinner.

older yet none the wiser.

when?
