hi mum and doug, thanks for the news. yeah, when i look at that photo of the food i cant believe rohan ate it! of course the bus driver didnt go slow! we spent most of the trip overtaking aswell which was a bit scary. i tried to ignore it. the bus took a mirror off a truck and there was a few words to be had. luckily the bus driver had a spare mirror! good luck with your travels... love ains
we also loved the photos - thought Roh looked quite the sauve South American, sitting at the cafe. Don't want to think about how hairy that road looked - Looking at the snow, can understand why you complained about being cold early on in the trip. Though we are not doing anything as exciting as a bike ride, we are hoping to do the seaplane flight in the next two weeks - have to pick a clear, sunny day - not too hard cause that's all we've got! Did manage to go bushwalking today on the Great Northern walk and had to abandon the track because it became a flowing stream - probably someone's swimming pool was leaking further up the hill! Anyway, keep well and continue the news and phots, Love,, marg and Ray
Hey ains and roh, This blogspot thing is such a good idea - very techie well for me anyway. The photo's look great - cold though, but i guess it was the andes. Well my news is that I finally handed in the all consuming thesis, a momentous non-event and now you'd think I'd have all this spare time but now I have to catch up on everything that has been on hold for the past 3 months. Oh well, it is a good feeling though. Off to melbourne this weekend to visit jono and looking forward to making the trek up to darwin in 3 months time. Anyway happy travels and keep the photo's coming!
love, alice
PS Did rohan actually eat that thing? Was he ill afterwards?
Have been reading up on Colonia and Montevideo - sound like very interesting spots, Colonia in particular. Are you going to do some surfing as well? The beaches sound pretty nice. Haven't heard any more about your gastronomic adventures..
hey commentors, good to see so many of you have managed to figure out how to comment. apparently its a bit tricky! congratulations al on the thesis! happy to report that the food has been alot better here in BA, but still alot of cheese (i had a cheese free day today - although we still havent had dinner) love to you all ains and roh
